The scrotal lift or the scrotoplasty is a surgical procedure which makes the scrotum smoother and improves its appearance. This procedure makes the daily life of some men simpler as the increase in size of the scrotal sack can produce daily difficulties caused by the decrease in elasticity over time.
Improves scrotal appearance
Improves quality of life
Reduces testicular hypersensitivity
The surgeon, in our case Dr Alexo Carballeira, assesses the patient to decide the best technique to use in each case. The scrotal lifting procedure is simple and does not require hospitalisation. Local anaesthesia and a sedative is usually applied meaning the patient can resume their normal routine in a very short period of time.
The procedure leaves minimal scarring as it is carried out on the natural furrow along the central line. This procedure does not affect the sensitivity of the genital area.
Type of procedure: surgical.
Length of procedure: approximately 90 minutes.
Anaesthesia: local anaesthetic + sedation.
Hosptialisation: Not required.
Recovery: 24 to 48 hours.
After the intervention, the patient may experience a slight inflammation of the treated area which can be alleviated by medication prescribed by the surgeon. We recommend keeping the area completely clean and restricting movement until the scar has completely healed.
The patient can return to their normal routine 24 to 48 hours after the operation and sexual activity can be resumed after 10 to 15 days depending on the case.
In short, we would like to highlight how a scrotal lifting can improve the patient’s quality of life as it makes it more comfortable to live with and improves its appearance. All of this using a simple technique which gives good and permanent results.
