Breast enlargement is a surgical procedure that improves the shape and size of the female breast. This technique is used to increase the size of small breasts, to correct the loss of volume that sometimes occurs after pregnancy, or even to correct a difference in size between both breasts.
This procedure increases breast size by one or more sizes by placing implants, own fat grafts or by a combination of both materials.

The procedure consists in inserting implants through an incision in the axilla, the areola or the breast crease depending on the case. The prosthesis can be positioned directly behind the glandular soft tissue, under the fascia of the muscle or under the pectoral muscle. Dr Alexo Carballeira will decide on the best procedure to use depending on the specific case of each patient.
There are usually two types of prosthesis:

The swelling of the breast will go down after a couple of weeks and the patient can go back to work after 4 or 5 days, making sure to follow the surgeon’s recommendations and care plan.
